Banquet facilities short and small punched at galabal student club: Many of the students were already drunk when they arrived

The University of Antwerp has a student club Sofia suspended after her galabal was turned out to be a mass brawl. The association of the faculty of law, was not to her advantage and is now up to 1 september 2019, on dry seed.

Sofia hired on november 16, hall Horta in the centre of Antwerp for its annual galabal. That is a concept in studentenmiddens, for 1,200 guests, the largest in its kind and with one constant: lots of drink and drugs. "Many of the students were already drunk when they arrived," says a witness. "Then it went from bad to worse." Around 3 hours was the price. "The galabal of Sofia was the first in ten years for which we have the green light to convert", says event manager Ann Fidlers. "Never let us have a studentenfeest."

mayor De Wever (N-VA) responded evil. "For years, we supply efforts to make Antwerp an attractive student city. Events like this do to this prejudice." Rector Herman Van Goethem has decided to the recognition of Sofia to withdraw and the club to suspend, until september 1, 2019.
