With the closing of Pozo Alcon's stage and the opening of Linares', the Vuelta Ciclista returns to the province.

Europa Press was informed of this by Francisco Reyes, president of the Diputacion. He has also alluded to the cooperation that this Administration offered to organize this cycling event so that Jaen is a part of it.

He stated that the Vuelta Ciclista arrived in Andalusia from the Diputacion de Jaen. "We have always chosen it to pass through our province. We are aware of its significance in terms of promotion as well as, in a special manner, economic return in regard to the number of beds occupied and consumption during that afternoon, and the next day."

Reyes pointed out that the Vuelta will be returning to Andalusian communities in 2018. "And there has been special sensibility on the part of organization" so it ends up in Jaen territory. Initial proposals suggested that it arrive at Pozo Alcon as the end stage and depart from Linares. This takes advantage of the fact that it first arrives from Andalusia, then has to leave for Castilla–La Mancha.

"The data that we have shows that this is the way it will be done. The President of the Provincial Council stated that all the stages must be defined. He is waiting for the Vuelta's official announcement.

He also highlighted the positive impact of broadcasting this test. Images of the various municipal terms it crosses can be seen and their reflection in the media as well as social networks. In addition to this, the immediate economic return can be seen in the provisioning and accommodation of the cyclists and their team members as well as the rest of race caravan.

The Spanish round was last seen in the 72nd edition. It ended with the fourteenth stage in Sierra de La Pandera, and began with the fifteenth at Alcala la Real. He did not cross Andalusia until last September, and it was after the parenthesis in 2016.

Two stages of the Vuelta Ciclista a Espana travelled through Jaen in 2015. One ended in Sierra de Cazorla, the other in Jodar. Alcaudete had been the goal for one day in the previous year and Baeza hosted it's start for the next. These roles were occupied in 2013 by Valdepenas de Jaen, and Torredelcampo.
