The El Ejido City Council VOX municipal group denounced last Wednesday the situation in a Santa Maria del Aguila building located on Hermanos Espinosa Street. It has been under construction since more than a decade.
The property is currently secured with a metal fence, a padlock and a gate. However, the right-wing formation points out that the property has pedestrian access from Linares street.
The councilors from the municipal group visited the area to confirm that people are staying in the building, despite its dangerous location. They confirmed that they had provided photographic evidence to the local government.
VOX also denounces that accessing the building poses health risks. They also claim it is illegally occupied because there is no enabling title. VOX also requests the City Council's intervention in this matter.
Vox councilor Beatriz Sanchez, from the City Council of El Ejido, stated that they were forced to ask the government "once again to do its work." He should take all legal steps necessary and close the building to ensure its safety.
