Vera is awarded a new playground in Plaza de las Flores

Numerous families and children attended the official inauguration for Plaza Flores' remodeling and improvement. The Vera City Council also organized a new playground. Jose Carmelo Jorge Blanco (the mayor of Vera) unveiled the plaque. The children's musical performance 'Los Boo" was also performed. The square covers an area of approximately 2,000m2. These improvements have enabled a better use of the square's surface, increasing its public space from 1,528 to the current 1,906 while keeping its functional part by conserving the area of road traffic for car parks. The construction of 14 new parking spaces has been possible thanks to the addition of houses adjacent.

With the expansion of Plaza de las Flores's surface, it is possible to transform this area into a recreation and leisure area. The creation of concrete benches has significantly increased the area. It was previously 10.8 square meters. Now, it is 126.67 sq. meters. To expand the space available, the gardens received a new treatment. The old parterres were replaced by a useful surface that can be used and an area of artificial shade.

This action preserved the majority of existing vegetation by grouping it into groups. Artificial grass has been replaced with natural grass to create new tactile relationships between the playground elements and other urban elements.
