Every year, tens of thousands of high school graduates in Germany are faced with an important decision: Do I study at a university or at a university of applied sciences (FH)? The Institute for Labor Market and Occupational Research (IAB) has now examined the financial effects of the decision. The researchers looked into the question of whether graduating from a university or “another university” – in addition to the university of applied sciences, these include the technical university or the art school, open up better career opportunities.
