Traffic light parties fall out of favor with voters

According to the current opinion trend of the Insa institute for the newspaper "Bild", the traffic light parties are losing favor with voters. If there were a federal election on Sunday, the Greens (21 percent) would have to give up one percentage point, the SPD (18.5 percent) and FDP (7.5 percent) would each have to give up half a point, the newspaper reported from the survey.

The left (5.5 percent) wins half a point, the AfD (13 percent) wins a full point. CDU/CSU (28 percent) keep their value from the previous week.

Together, the traffic light government only just achieved a parliamentary majority of 47.5 percent. Black-Green would have a clearer parliamentary majority with 49 percent. A Germany coalition of Union, SPD and FDP would get a clear majority of votes with 54 percent.

“It will be tight for the traffic light and Olaf Scholz. The Greens can no longer detach themselves from the negative trend of the traffic lights," said Insa boss Hermann Binkert of the newspaper.
