A 'fitness carnival' was organized by the Casa de la Juventud by the City Council of La Zubia. It promotes healthy living habits among young people through its Department of Youth. A session of this English-inspired sport discipline, which encourages exercise to the beat of soca, reggaeton, and 'afrobeats, was enjoyed by several dozen young people from different ages.
Cristina Diaz McLynn, the instructor, was responsible for teaching the Zubienses how to dance with energy and positivity. They also practiced intense and enjoyable exercises in a carnival-like atmosphere. Cristina is a certified monitor for this speciality created by Piloexercise, Bristol (England), so she was happy to share her knowledge with the Zubia youth.
Antonio Arquelladas (City Councilor for Youth of La Zubia) thanked the monitor for being so enthusiastic and encouraged all the youth of the town to "propose activities that are of interest to you and to actively take part in developing and carrying out them." He explains that the Casa de la Juventud de La Zubia will accept proposals and provide all necessary resources to make them happen.
Puri Lopez, La Zubia's mayor, stated that the Youth House was "a driving force behind cultural and sports activities and offers very innovative activities for our youth"
