This Sunday, the OCG will be reviewing 'The history and dance'

The City of Granada Orchestra's next concert, "La historia en danza", will be held at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium at 12:00 on March 24, 2019. The event is part the 'Family Concerts" cycle of the Granada Orchestra, a series that aims to bring together "different generations" through live musical performances. These events are designed so that children and young adults can enjoy classical music with their parents or other family members.

The concert will allow children to enjoy music through an engaging presentation and format of the orchestra’s concerts. The OCG has created a unique educational and cultural offer for weekend leisure. This allows the entire family to go to Manuel de Falla and enjoy a different type of morning entertainment. Each concert features the best classical music and the most outstanding performances.

ConcertOCG - The history and culture of dance

From its inception, the dance

This show is recommended for all ages and will help you understand the nuances and styles of modern and classical dance. Larisa Ramos will play the role of narrator and guide the OCG through the important moments of dance. From Irish dance to ballet. The hip-hop and ballroom dance styles that attendees will be learning about are available to them. All dances are considered artistic expressions that allow people to use their bodies and communicate emotions. The concert encourages dance and hopes that children and their parents will have fun with it.

This show will feature works by Emile Waldteufel and Antonio Vivaldi. Henry Purcell, Nicola Conforto and Johannes Brahms. After the two shows 'The Carnival of the Animals’ and 'Adoring the Child' at the close of 2018, this will be the final show of the Family Concerts’ cycle.

Dance and family music

The original idea was born out of Olivier Foure's imagination. Foure prepared the content to explore this history, and Ariel E. Ramos has adapted it. Jose Trigueros, the City of Granada Orchestra's director, will be performing the musical part. The event will be a family-friendly affair where attendees will be able to learn many lessons about the history and evolution of dance from the top classical music performers of the province of Granada.
