For the summer season, the hours of the municipal swimming pool at Egido del Puente Romano are extended so that users can use them uninterrupted from 12:00 to 21:00. It has been closing at 8:00 pm in recent years.
Yesterday, the Mayor Pedro Luis Rodriguez, and Jose Antonio Oria, the Councilor for Sports visited the facilities. They will be open this Friday, June 17th, to view 'in situ,' the preparations for the beginning of the bathing season. According to the municipal manager, the program will be aimed at different sections of the population and will provide content for different days.
Payment options
The City Council will implement a card payment system. This will allow for face-to-face purchases of tickets and other bonuses at facilities' ticket offices. In addition, there is the option to pay in cash or via the Sporttia platform. Oria explored the ideal conditions where the Municipal Pool is situated, and "which endorses this Government Team's commitment to maintaining top-class sporting facilities, even being acknowledged by the regional authorities."
He stated that the newties are a response to citizens' demands, and "that in addition, they will be capable of enjoying the quality municipal sports facilities, but also to mitigate high temperatures on the Encinarejo inner beach, a unique natural area where the City Council improvements actions and clean up work will soon begin," he said. Rodriguez encouraged citizens to take part in the cultural and leisure activities scheduled for the summer months.
