Juan De la Cruz Belmonte (delegate for Health and Families), together with Jose Miguel Medina, the North Health Management Area managing director, and Jose Carmelo Jorge, the mayor of Vera visited Puerto Rey's office in Vera playa to oversee the opening of the health center.

Juan De la Cruz Belmonte (delegate for Health and Families), together with Jose Miguel Medina, the North Health Management Area managing director, and Jose Carmelo Jorge, the mayor of Vera visited Puerto Rey's office in Vera playa to oversee the opening of the health center. This was a "reinforcement," of the Board’s Summer Plan.

Belmonte stated that "the opening of Puerto Rey is part of a plan that the Ministry of Health implements during the summer season. Reinforcing assistance, accessibility, and health services for all tourists who come to us in the summer, especially in areas like Vera, which has a great deal of wealth and triples its population in the months of July/August>>>.

Health's delegate expressed its commitment to provide "all the necessary support, both human and material, to continue serving Veratense and those who visit us as they merit."

Like every summer, the Vera Playa office opened between July 1st and September 15. The strengthening of care to provide health care closer for the "displaced" population who spend their holidays in the area. Also, to service regular residents who are seeing an increase in people who need Primary Care services during these times.

Puerto Rey's office is situated in an 80-square-meter building, which was donated by the Vera City Council and the Andalusian Government. It contains two consulting rooms, a waiting area, and storage rooms. The Andalusian Health Services (SAS), which employs a doctor and a nurse, as well as a technician, and the Veratense Town Hall works with them to operate it.

The health center is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 pm. It cares for 60 patients on average each day. The hospital also offers an ambulance service for any emergency that may occur on the coast.
