The Port of Aguadulce is now easier to access by pedestrians coming from Islas Azores street

Roquetas de Mar City Council will be carrying out works to improve access to Aguadulce marina from Carlos III Avenue through Azores street. This project is designed to improve accessibility and mobility for residents in the area. It has also been used for maintenance works.

Gabriel Amat, the mayor, visited the works, along with Jose Luis Llamas (councilor for Urban Agenda) and Juanjo Salvador, the mayor of Aguadulce. The mayor stated that the descent from the Marina via this point was difficult and residents made many requests for its improvement. Until now, there had been no pedestrian route to ensure safety for pedestrians and vehicles. .

These works have made it possible for Islas Azores to have a street with one descending direction. The parking lots have also been moved to another road to improve safety for drivers, as they are right next to the pavement. A parking area for persons with reduced mobility was also created. A guardrail was installed and signage replaced.

Amat stated that "with these work we have solved an security problem since access to the Port of Aguadulce from now on will be in improved conditions for all users. In addition, the old pavement was very slippery so we have replaced it by non-slip cobblestones." The mayor also pointed out the improvements made.
