The Camino de la Cruz del Almanzora was presented at the tourism fair

Electric mobility is being recognized by more and more people as an opportunity to boost tourism in certain areas. These recharging stations will bring new tourists to remote areas that do not have the infrastructure to support them. The Almanzora Valley is an exceptional natural area in the heart Almeria. It has ten charging stations (eight private and two public) and offers a total of 20 points. Thanks to the Almanzora Electric Project, this valley is the rural area with the most charging points.

Pasate a lo Electrico, the Association of Tourism Entrepreneurs of Valle Almanzora, and Pasate a lo Electrico took the initiative. They advised local councils to ask for assistance from the Junta de Andalucia. Electromaps Manager is the management software that Electromaps uses to charge public points. This software is used in many Spanish municipalities and businesses.

The chargers can be found in Bacares and Purchena and Macael (Cantoria), Cantoria, Almanzora(Cantoria), two in Arboleas next to the town hall, and next to the highway), Taberno and Hotel-Restaurant jardines la Tejera. There are 8 chargers in total, 6 belonging to municipalities and 2 private. All chargers are currently in use, except for those belonging to Purchena or Macael. These will soon be operational. With the Electromaps app and keyring, you can pay for your charges at public locations.

The Almanzora Electrico project was presented at FITUR in Madrid, Spain, at the Almeria stand. The Almanzora Electrico Project does not stop here. It plans to add new charging points to the area over the next few years.

The Almanzora Valley is a tourist destination that offers nature, rural tourism and gastronomy. It also has a rich history, culture, history, and tradition. Now, it's attracting more attention with its electric vehicle chargers. It is also worth noting that there are 20 charging stations within a radius of 50 km.

ALMANZORA CROSSING WAY

Caravaca de la Cruz, the most important pilgrimage centre in southeastern Spain is Caravaca de la Cruz. The Region of Murcia and the Junta de Andalucia have teamed up to create a pilgrimage route that connects Almeria with this important Murcian city.

The Valle del Almanzora Tourism Business Association designed a pilgrimage route through the region in 2020. It linked two of the most significant pilgrimage centers in Almeria: the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Saliente (Albox) and the Santo Cristo del Bosque (Bacarres).

The Camino de la Cruz, which runs from Almanzora to Caravaca, follows the same route. Each stage of the Camino covers approximately 20km. The Camino starts at Bacares and ends at Seron. It runs through the Layon, which is a stunning spot in the Sierra de los Filabres. This is the same route used by pilgrims every September 14th from Seron to Bacares for the Santo Cristo del Bosque. This is the reverse route.

The second stage departs Seron and follows the Almanzora Greenway to Olula del Rio. It crosses the Tijola and Purchena stations on the way. The third stage starts from Olula Del Rio and continues along the greenway, passing through Fines to Cantoria. It then follows the old road from Albox to Cantoria. The fourth and final stage of this path runs from Olula del Rio to Albox - Santuario del Saliente. This is the path on which every September 8th, pilgrims walk from Albox in order to see the "Pequenica", or Virgin of Saliente.

The Camino de la Cruz del Almanzora total length is 81km. The Camino de la Cruz del Almanzora will take you to Velez Rubio, Velez Blanco, and then to Caravaca de la Cruz. Almeria soil can support more than 100kms of Camino de la Cruz.

Caravaca de la Cruz will celebrate the 2024 Jubilee and anticipates receiving a million pilgrims in that year.

Tourism entrepreneurs have submitted to the Ministry of Tourism all information necessary to create and signpost the route. This includes the itinerary, the places you can sleep at each stop, what to eat and places that can be visited in each of the towns along the route. You can also place the pilgrim stamp.

The Ministry of Tourism sent all documentation to the Public Tourism Company of Andalusia. This company is now working with the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia in order to make this Camino de la Cruz, from Almeria towards Caravaca de la Cruz, a reality as soon possible. .
