The Special Plan for Protection and Interior Reform (PEPRI) is being approved for the historic center of the municipality. It was initially approved on November 8, 2019, but has been re-approved for the current period. This proposal is from the Urban Planning, Works and Services Area and focuses on actions to restore buildings in this area.
Mercedes Flores, the mayor of the branch explained that there were many houses with whitewashed stones facades in Alcala's historic center that don't contribute to the natural environment of the material. There are also other buildings that have externally deteriorated, some disreputable, that reduce our attractiveness. We intend to restore the historic center.
The City Council is currently working to create an inventory of these buildings. This will include a photograph, site plan, and a proposal of works and/or improvements, such as painting bars, balconies, and facades.
The intervention will be coordinated between the municipal archaeologist and technical architect of Urban Discipline. It will take place over the course of this year and under the supervision of the Head for the Urban Planning and Heritage. The relevant actions will be initiated once the data are available.
This diagnosis will help us achieve our objective. Once we have the data, we can return the historic center's brilliance and restore the area's charm. Mercedes Flores stated that this is a task in which Mercedes Flores and other owners will collaborate.
The mayor stressed that the Housing Rehabilitation Plan for the historic center, which is included in turn in REAL Plan, will subside this type of action.
