Residents of Huescar, La Puebla are enthusiastic about the Patron Saints Alodia and Nunilon

Yesterday, Pentecost Monday was a day when the communities of Huescar, Puebla de Do Fadrique, and Puebla de Alodia celebrated the pilgrimage to the Patron Saints Alodia, and Nunilon. It was the first since the pandemic, and it was obvious.

The farewell mass of the Saints was held in Santa Maria at 7:15 in the morning, just a few minutes after the verbena had ended. At 12 noon, the farewell mass for Saints was celebrated in Santa Maria.

The Brotherhood of the Saints of Puebla was the first to take the images from the hermitage and give them a mass. This is always very moving. The Saints descend to Puebla De Don Fadrique at 4 p.m., where they are welcomed with a solemn welcome procession. The Las Santas spend a few weeks in Puebla de Don Fadrique, before returning on a pilgrimage to the hermitage at the foot La Sagra where they will stay until Easter Monday next year.

The desire to party was strong and the Huescar City Council organized a Department of Festivities. Lucia Lozano, the mayor, facilitated the effort. With the support of the rest of government, they created a festival of pilgrimage and farewell for the Saints. There were some new things, but it was well received by Huesca as well as visitors. The most authentic of the many events is Sunday's procession. It features a representative of all brotherhoods and brotherhoods as well as the municipal corporation and, since 2017, the mayor of Puebla Mariano Garcia. There are hundreds upon hundreds of Huescar women in traditional Huescar costumes. It is unlike any other procession. It is an emotional moment.

Participation of the Music Band Music Association Ciudad de Huescar de Musica, and the CC.TT Bands of Cristo de la Soledad and de la Expiracion, made the music note in a procession that included everything, from a petala to the passage of Saints to the anthem being sung by everyone from Huesca, who filled the Plaza Mayor.

Notable is also the welcoming of the Patron Saints by Puebla de Don Fadrique residents on Monday evening. The Brotherhood of the Saints made it a triumphal entry that will be cherished by all.
