Parque de la Paz was, as every year, the venue for the IV Churriana Integra Inclusive race. It was organized by the Granada Integra Sports Association and co-ordinated by the Churriana de la Vega City Council. Another year has passed and this route through town raised funds to create a loan bank for adaptive sports equipment.
It takes two turns before reaching the circuit of 5km. It passed through Churriana and entered the Vega. The beautiful natural environment was a great place to enjoy a morning when the weather conditions were perfect.
Antonio Narvaez (Mayor of Churriana de la Vega) has spoken out about the significance of this race, which began in March 2015. He said, "If we are able to enjoy something on a day such as today, it's the fact that we share the desire for improvement, the desire of excelling and personal development and walk together the path to a truly inclusive and accessible sport."
He expressed his gratitude for the high level of participation and the wonderful atmosphere created every year in the Parque de la Paz. "In addition to amateur and professional athletes, it's a joy to see whole families, especially the youngest, enjoy sport in the most supportive environment."
Lee James Grantham, an athlete, won the 10km absolute category. After completing two laps of circuit in 45 minutes 16 seconds, Zuzana Spacirova was first in the women's category. Her time was 35:21.
Also, Churriana De la Vega's best participants were recognized. Estrella Peinado, Antonio Martinez, and others stood out.
