Parque de la Encina de La Zurbia was transformed for a few minutes into a large circus-ring by 'La Gran Matine,' a Christmas event organized by the City Council's Department of Youth. The Estreyarte circus company put on great shows, including workshops in acrobatics and juggling, aerial silks as well as comics, graffiti, makeup and balloon twisting.
Falen, a local artist, also took part in the event, and performed a live graffiti art on a mime. This work will now be displayed at Casa de la Juventud, La Zubia.
Antonio Arquelladas (Councilor for Youth in Zubia) stressed that the 'Great Matine" was a result of the outstanding activity at our Youth House in which La Zubia's children and youth have the opportunity to grow their creativity, learn about the latest artistic trends and make friends.
Puri Lopez, La Zubia's mayor, stated that the activity was part of the Christmas Program of the City Council. During all holidays, the City Council has organized many events aimed at the entire family so that neighbors can have a great experience.
Children and youth will be able to have another appointment at La Zubia's fairgrounds on December 29th. The City Council will create a 150 meter long inflatable circuit. It will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and will be completely free.
