A jumbo jet under Russian control has not been allowed to take off from Hahn Airport in Rhineland-Palatinate for more than six months. According to the insolvent airport, this has resulted in a six-figure parking fee – every day it's around 1,200 euros again. The large cargo plane, a Boeing 747, which landed in the Hunsrück for the airline Cargologicair UK in spring 2022, remains stuck here indefinitely. The background is the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
The state operation mobility (LBM), as aviation and air security authority for Rhineland-Palatinate, informed the German press agency on request: "The airline and its aircraft are subject to EU sanctions, and in this respect the B 747 is still at the airport Frankfurt-Hahn." Any efforts by the airline to free the jumbo jet from the Hunsrück "are not known to us," added the authority.

With this aircraft, that’s around 400 tons, so the parking fee is around 1,200 euros per day.”
