"Number of deaths at half-year high"

115,534 Corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.

In the previous week comparison, there is a minus of 23 percent.

This is the eighth consecutive business day decline.

The 7-day average is still two-digit (minus 17 percent) in negative territory compared to the previous week, the number of active cases is only slightly (by two percent) above the previous week's level.

The nationwide incidence continues to fall, from 584 to 570.

It also falls in 14 of the 16 federal states.

The two exceptions are Hamburg, which comes from the autumn holidays this week - and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where school started again last week.

In a comparison with the previous week, the development is the most unfavorable in Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – as well as in NRW and Schleswig-Holstein, the only other two countries that have already passed the autumn holidays.

273 Corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday - more than since April 27th, i.e. for almost half a year.

At that time, at the end of April, the incidence, with a value of 888 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days, was much higher than today, where it is 570.

However: At that time the proportion of the vulnerable age group 60 in the new cases was 17 percent, today it is 31 percent.

The number of corona cases in intensive care units is higher today (1773) than then (1443) despite the lower incidence.
