This unique accommodation, which is based on Ubetense crafts, including pottery, was nominated for the Best Sustainable Holiday Home in Europe and Best Sustainable Accommodation in Spain categories.

Melchor Tito, a potter, and his family run this vacation home. They are known for their respect for the environment as well as for their promotion and dissemination for natural and artisanal foods, beverages, and services. All of the furniture has been restored and rescued to encourage reuse. Many of the elements are handmade in ceramic by the potter, including lamps, sinks, basins, countertop ornaments, and tableware.

Melchor Tito designed the space to be a place where he could develop creative ideas in decoration and interior design. He also included visits to his pottery, which preserves the millenary tradition in ceramics. Ubetense

Fuente Seca Street is where the house is located. It is attached to the Arab wall in Ubeda. This allows for heating and cooling to be reduced. It offers natural cold in the summer and heat during winter. It is a unique project that focuses on the preservation of an ancestral trade as well as a way to see things in a natural, artisanal and efficient manner. These awards have been praised for highlighting this fact, as well as the fact that it's the first themed accommodation centered around crafts.

Melchor Tito received the 2020 Andalusian Craft Award of the Junta in the Quality in Promotion and Marketing category for his application of the traditions of his trade to create a new type of accommodation based around pottery. He also received the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards in Sustainable Development, which were presented by the Provincial Council of Jaen. These awards recognize innovative and sustainable development initiatives that are respecting the environment and contribute to local development. He was awarded it in the category business project.

Eight other independent Spanish hotels were also nominated for one of 50 categories in the 2022 GrINN awards. Quartz Inn Hotels organizes these awards and recognizes European tourism establishments and leaders who have contributed to building a sustainable sector. The main purpose of the awards is to encourage good practices and preserve culture.

After deliberation by the expert jury, the finalists will soon be announced. The winners will then be selected after a public vote.
