More than 2,500 La Zubia schoolchildren will improve their swimming technique at the municipal pool.

La Zubia's primary and secondary school students, along with their teachers of physical education, will learn how to swim and participate in water activities at the municipal swimming pool. This is thanks to the partnership agreement between the City Council and all educational centers through the Sports area.

This initiative has been in place since 2007 when the pool was opened to the public. It aims to make water more accessible for schoolchildren and help them lose fear of it.

All students from Tierno Galvan and Isabel La Catolica schools as well as those from the Laurel de la Reina or Trevenque institutes will be able to swim in the municipal swimming pool during school hours. This will allow them to transfer their classes from the classrooms into the water.

The mayor of La Zubia says that in many cases, these classes are taught by their Physical Education teachers as part of the education curriculum. The Councilor for Sports and the Councilor of La Zubia wanted to greet one of the smaller groups at the activity's end during their visit.

La Zubia's Councilor for Sports has stressed the importance of making the most of the City Council's human and material resources to educational centers in order to facilitate the implementation of various activities and actions that will improve the learning process and integral formation of students.

Puri Lopez, the mayor, explains that the cooperation between the City Council of the educational centers is "very close and continuous, and manifests itself in initiatives as beautiful, positive, for our schoolchildren, as this one".
