Maracena begins Phase 1 of de-escalation

Since the Government of Spain declared the state of emergency due to the coronavirus-related health crisis, it has been more than two months. Maracena residents, just like all the other inhabitants of the country, had to adapt their lifestyle. It has been a time when the spread of the pandemic virus has been slowing down. The Government has already prepared a gradual de-escalation, in which additional activities can be permitted if the criteria are met. After not being able go to Phase 1 on May 11, the entire Province of Granada is now able to move to the next stage towards normality, starting May 18.

This is the first phase of Maracena's rehabilitation. Residents will be able start to do more activities. However, they must adhere to the recommended hygiene and social distancing measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. All this with the goal of restoring, though slowly, economic activity and normalcy, while minimizing the risk of new Covid-19 infection. It is still to be seen when the province will be able move on to the next phase of de-escalation. The move to Phase 1 is already a great thing for most citizens. They will be able, among other things to, see their loved ones once more, visit bar terraces, and can move around freely in the province. .

What are the options?

Moving to Phase 1 will allow residents of those areas to do more activities than they could previously. There will be no restrictions on movement in the province. However, travel must be done with hygiene and safety precautions and only 10 people maximum. The time slots for walking or playing with children will remain the same.

Retail establishments and retail premises with 400 or more square meters of space may be allowed to resume activity. However, they must ensure that 30% of their total capacity is not occupied and that clients are kept at least two metres apart. Shopping malls will, however, remain closed during Phase 1. In Phase 1, shopping malls will remain closed. Protective equipment should be used in any business that does not permit safe distance, such hairdressers and physiotherapy centers. This is to reduce the risk of infection and ensure safety. By making an appointment. Restaurants and bars can raise their shutters once more, but only those with outdoor terraces will be allowed to use 50% of their capacity.

The schooling period has been opened by many municipalities in the northern metro area. For the moment, however, educational centers will be only open for disinfection or to perform administrative functions. Museums and libraries will be allowed to resume their activities as long as the capacity is reduced to 30% and they are not prohibited from using computer media or engaging in cultural activities. Sport can be practiced outdoors at the same time as before. It is also possible to reopen High Performance Centers, outdoor sports centers, and individual sports. Although they can be done, other services like masses and wakes are not allowed. Masses can be held up to one-third of the total. Wakes are limited to 15 people if they are outdoors, and 10 if they are in closed spaces.
