Lidl invests nearly five million in Albox's new store

Lidl will be opening a new store at Albox on Thursday, the 28th of Februaryro. It replaces the previous one in the same area, which was built and equipped with more than 4.8million euros.

Today is the official opening of the store. All customers who make purchases of any amount today will receive a raffia pouch as a gift.

The establishment has 114 parking spaces on the surface. It covers an area of 1,482 m2.

Six new jobs have been created by the supermarket chain through this project. This brings the total number of employees to 24. The building's design, which is in compliance with the highest sustainability standards and covers more than 600 meters, has photovoltaic panels that cover the roof. These panels will generate 66% the building's energy needs. As an energy efficiency measure, it also features two charging stations for electric cars in its parking area.

Francisco Torrecillas (the mayor of Albox) visited the facilities to thank Lidl for their commitment to Albox and the creation "so essential for citizens", as well as for valuing the facilities.

Hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.

There are 14 Lidl stores in Almeria. The company already has 250 employees. Five of the 35 new stores opened by the supermarket chain in Andalusia in the past five years correspond to openings in Almeria.

The chain has strengthened its commitment to local products and suppliers. This year, it has increased its selection with new brands and stocks from Almeria. Among these, fruit and vegetable products are the most prominent. These brands will be found in the more than 2,500 references customers will find at this store. To offer new products to Albojenses, additional sections like the bakery and fish market were added.
