La Zubia enforces her control over those who don't collect excrement from their dogs

La Zubia's City Council has launched a special campaign that will involve up to three departments (Sustainability and Safety, Works, and the Environment). This campaign aims to educate residents about the importance of collecting the droppings of pets in order to keep the city cleaner.

The council invites residents to provide information to the Local Police about areas that are most affected by dog owners who don't pick up after their dogs when they go for walks.

"We ask people to let us know which areas and streets of La Zubia have more excrement and where they need to increase the police presence so we can monitor and adhere with current regulations," Francisco Camara, Councilor for Sustainability and Security of La Zubia stated during the presentation of this campaign.

Residents are also asked by the City Council to report areas in which litter bins are not available.

Camara says that this will allow the La Zubia Police to increase its presence in black spots where the Works and Services Area has detected more excrement.

There are currently three pipicanes in La Zubia, at the Fairgrounds and in San Pedro. We invite residents to send us this information, Camara says.

The City Council of La Zubia will also place posters informing residents about diseases transmitted by dog droppings. Good practice manuals will be distributed to encourage responsible cooperation.

Puri Lopez, the mayor of La Zubia stated that the campaign aims to foster a culture where pet owners can collect their droppings from the public roads.
