Almost 60 years before the Netflix series "Wednesday", US actress Lisa Loring played the bad-tempered daughter of the creepy Addams Family - now, according to US media, she is dead. The former child star of the American television series "The Addams Family" (1964 -1966) suffered a fatal stroke, her daughter told the industry journal Variety on Sunday evening.

The American was 64 years old. Her friend Laurie Jacobson wrote on Facebook: "She will always be in our hearts Wednesday Addams." Loring's colleague Butch Patrick was a child star of the rival series "The Munsters" at the same time: "We knew each other very well and worked together a lot. I knew that her health was not good. I visited her a few weeks ago.” Loring's black-and-white series “The Addams Family” was also shown in West Germany from the 1970s.

The cranky Addams clan, who flirt with death and all evil, despising everything normal and colorful, was first published as a cartoon in 1938. The family was also the subject of several feature films and TV adaptations.

In November 2022, the Netflix streaming service released a new series specifically about the character Wednesday. The eight-part series was the number one Netflix series for weeks and set streaming records. Leading actress Jenna Ortega (20) was at times one of the favorite topics of social media. A dance scene sparked a global TikTok trend.

The Netflix version "Wednesday" was penned by the successful duo Alfred Gough and Miles Millar ("Spider-Man 2"). The focus is on Wednesday Addams. She wants to solve a series of murders at the spooky Nevermore Academy.
