JAC organizes summer camps on La Barrosa beach.

After three years of waiting and two editions of absence, the traditional camps that Youth of Catholic Action (JAC), have been creating for over six decades, will return to La Barrosa beach in Cadiz, Chiclana de la Frontera. There is also a small corner of Ubeda right by the ocean. The board of directors decided this in recent days, after considering the normalization in the health conditions that prevented its start-up for 2020 and 2021.

As a result, preparations are underway to resume three shifts in which approximately 300 girls and boys will be able to pass again. They also do important social work because many minors from Ubet, whose families are in difficult economic circumstances, are granted scholarships.

Although the usual dates will be maintained, the age ranges for campers admitted have been slightly widened to allow them to join. This is to partially compensate for the loss of two camps. The first turn, which is for girls born between 2006-2009, will take place from July 24 through August 4. The second turn, which is for children born between 2006-2009, will be held from August 4-15. The third shift is for girls and boys born between 2010-2013 and will be held from August 15-25.

To avoid awkward queues, the lottery will distribute places. People interested in attending camp can register at the turn that corresponds with their age by presenting DNI or family books. They will then be issued a number to enter the draw.

One number per person can be obtained. If there are duplicates, they will be cancelled. The seats are non-transferable and will not be transferable. The three shifts will be raffled off at the headquarters on June 27, in the afternoon. Once the lottery ticket is obtained, the winners will have a few more days to pay the fee and send the receipt to the association.

Camps are a learning and leisure space for youth. Campers and campers have unforgettable days and receive training in values. The thousands of Ubetans who participated in them have proven this over the years.

Youth of Catholic Action has adapted their facilities and shifts to meet the needs of modern society. The association's large volunteer base allows for individual attention to young people. La Barrosa offers twelve days of games and training, workshops, dynamics. Animation, evenings, parties. Coexistence is encouraged. These are the best words to describe this experience.
