Involved 13-year-old lives in residential facility for young people

After the alleged drug death of a 22-year-old in a hotel in St. Pauli, not all questions have been answered. In addition to clarifying the circumstances of the man's death, the investigators' attention is focused in particular on the question of why, in addition to the four men aged 19 to 22, a 13-year-old also stayed in the hotel room. The girl was taken to a hospital with two of the men on Tuesday with severe symptoms of poisoning.

According to media reports, the girl is said to live in a residential facility for young people in Harburg. As the "Hamburger Abendblatt" writes, the girl is known as a "problem case" and "a typical stray" who has been reported missing several times in the past. How the 13-year-old knows the four men is still part of the investigation. The girl's life is not in danger, said a police spokesman.

Rescue workers found a lifeless 22-year-old in room 716 of the "Arcotel Onyx" on the Reeperbahn on Tuesday. Two other men, aged 19 and 21, were taken to the hospital along with the girl for drug poisoning. But they have already been released, said the police spokesman. The body of the 22-year-old was taken to the Institute for Forensic Medicine to determine the cause of death.

A fourth man, who also slept in the room, woke up on Tuesday to find one of his companions dead, it said. He informed the hotel staff. This then called the emergency services. The 20-year-old received no medical treatment. It was unclear whether he had taken any drugs at all, said the police spokesman.

According to previous knowledge, the room in the hotel on the Reeperbahn was booked for Monday to Wednesday. The four men and the girl are said to be Hamburgers and all already known to the police for minor drug offences.

Drugs, alcohol and pills are said to have been seized in the hotel room. According to the Abendblatt, among other things, a drug is said to have been consumed "that doctors administer to epileptics so that they can calm down after seizures". When the rescue workers entered the hotel room, they are said to have found the dead man and the three lifeless people lying in their vomit.

The deceased 22-year-old from Stellingen is said to have worked as a bartender in the Hamburg neighborhood. Maybe that's why the five had rented a room in the hotel near the Reeperbahn. The hotel wanted to celebrate its tenth anniversary on Thursday.

However, a hotel spokeswoman said: "Due to the sad events of Tuesday evening and out of consideration for the relatives, we have of course decided to cancel the planned celebrations on August 25, 2022 at short notice." The buffet that has already been prepared will be donated to the Hamburger Tafel association.

Hamburg rescue workers found three young people who were initially unresponsive in a park on Thursday and took them to the hospital. The police could not say anything about the condition and background of the emergency in the green area near a school in the Langenhorn district. The age of those affected was also unclear. According to the fire brigade, several vehicles were deployed.
