The fifth edition of the Vega Semana de la Vega, which takes place between April 18-24 in 14 cities in the Metropolitan Area, features 50 activities. It aims to protect the environment and raise awareness among citizens about the need for sustainable development.
Huetor Vega is being commemorated by the Department of the Environment. There will be a tasting of broad beans,'salaillas' and a planting ceremony on April 19. Also, the Camino de los Neveros will host a symbolic planting of a tree, and the reading of the Covenant through la Vega.
The Huetor Vega City Council's Department of the Environment organizes a photographic collective exhibition about the fertile land and its ditches, from the perspective of the citizens. It is called "Learning to take care of the fertile prairie". The exhibition will be held at Carmen de San Rafael from 21 April to 29 May.

Together with the Granada Provincial Council, the Salvemos la Vega platform and Vega Educa platform, a week of cultural and tourist, sporting, and leisure activities has been prepared by Vega Educa and Vega Educa. There will be 50 activities in total across 14 municipalities, including Huetor Vega and Granada. The program includes exhibitions, workshops, collective plantations, photography, competitions and round tables.
