Tomorrow's Villazgo Exemption will be celebrated by the Huercal-Overa City Council. An institutional act will take place at Villa de Huercal-Overa Theater, at 8:30 p.m. The ceremony will see the presentation of distinctions to institutions who work for the residents. The act will award a Special Honorable Mention to the Villa to the North Almeria Health Management Area. During these two years of pandemic, the work of health workers and other staff at the various centers has been so important that they have even risked their lives.
The same award will be given to the Civil Protection Group of the Diputacion de Almeria. They were vital in the development of weekly markets during the pandemic. While they waited for the population's compliance with the sanitary measures, they have been there for months helping the health workers organize the vaccination points, distribute material, and participate in the events.
The Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Forsaken Elderly will be awarded the Special Honorable Mention of the Ville. This Congregation arrived in Huercal-Overa in the 1889 at the hands of the Venerable Cura Valera, and has been providing care for the elderly ever since. The Hogar Nuestra Senora del Rio de las Hermanitas Residence, a non-profit social assistance center, is dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable elderly in society.
The Special Honorable Mention of the villa will be given to the Sisters of the Assumption.
