How to turn on “god mode” in Windows

Master Control Panel is the official name of a useful folder in Windows 10 and 11. Unofficially it is also called God Mode. Why?

It's simple: This folder grants access to around 200 useful Windows functions, all gathered in one place. So put an end to the frustration of searching for any settings. A little more complicated: You have to create this folder first.

This works by - no surprise - creating a new folder. And on the desktop. Then it gets a little more complicated. Because the folder has to be named with a cryptic Windows object name.

It's .{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and yes, the period in front of it and the curly brackets are also part of it. The brackets can be created with the "Alt Gr" key and the "7" key or with "Alt Gr" and "0" - pressed simultaneously.

As soon as you name the new folder with the object name and press Enter, the cryptic name disappears again. A good sign: everything worked.

If you then open the folder as normal, you will find links to countless practical functions, neatly sorted by category.
