Juan de la Cruz Belmonte Mena was yesterday accompanied by Domingo Fernandez (mayor of Huercal-Overa), and Jose Miguel Medina (manager of the Northern Health Area). They visited the Huercal-Overa Health Center where the coverage of the second Primary Care Emergency Team has been increased.
Belmonte Mena emphasized the Ministry of Health's commitment to Primary Care. In this case, it was to respond to growing demand for emergency care at the Huercal-Overa Clinical Management Unit. The unit already has a second team for care emergencies of the reference population.
This center's emergency service performed approximately 28,500 visits in the last year. That is 6,000 more than the 22,000 registered the year before.
