The German national team made a false start at the World Cup in Qatar. The DFB selection lost their opening game on Wednesday against Japan 1: 2 (1: 0) and is therefore under extreme pressure early on. Especially since the next opponent on Sunday is Spain.
In front of 42,608 spectators, Ilkay Gündogan gave the team of national coach Hansi Flick the lead with a penalty kick in the 33rd minute. The Germans had the game under control and had enough chances to make it 2-0. But then they completely lost the thread. After the break, Ritsu Doan (75') and Takuma Asano (83') turned the game in favor of the Japanese with their goals.
More to come
