Due to an error made by the Higher Sports Council, Vicar will need to return 600,000.00 euros

Yesterday, the City Council of Vicar concluded the month of June with two plenary sessions. One was an ordinary session with five points and one was an extraordinary one. At the request of the opposition to receive information about the partial return of a subvention granted by the Higher Sports Council in 2011 for the construction of Palacio de los Deportes. Also, the legal resources, resolutions and costs generated by these resources.

The extraordinary session saw Luz Maria Fernandez, the Government spokesperson, and Antonio Bonilla, the municipal comptroller, give a detailed account of the whole process of the subsidy request file as well as the reasons for the contribution. Antonio Bonilla, the mayor, stated that it was an "exemplary file" in which there was no negligence by the City Council. However, the Higher Sports Council (CDS), granted it. We appealed after consulting our legal experts. After an audit of the CDS, conducted by the General Services of State Economic Affairs we were forced to return the 500,000 euro.

Concerning the default interest generated from successive resources and costs that have exceeded 100,000 euro, the mayor stated that "we have defended ourself because we honestly understood the ethical and administrative perspective was on our side and it is what we should do."

Five motions were presented by IU and two non-attached councilors to the Corporation in the other plenary session. These included one to support Security Forces at the Melilla Border, presented by Rafael Ruda, which was supported by all except IU. Another, by Alfonso Santiago, on bullying, was supported by all but the PP, Vox, and Vox, who abstained.

Similarly, IU also presented three motions. All of them were approved. One was on a legislative initiative for regularizing migrants. It was rejected by Vox, the non-attached and Alfonso Santiago. Another was to make visibility to the LGTBIQ Pride Day, which was rejected by Vox. The third was on NATO rejection, which was rejected by all other groups, except Rafael Ruda who abstained.
