Cristina Vinolo, a sixth grade student at Santa Maria del Aguila Early Childhood and Primary Education Center, was named yesterday "Mayor for a Day" by Santa Maria del Aguila. She declared herself the winner in the annual writing contest that organizes the Local Board, which is held on the occasion of the patron saint celebrations in honor of Virgin Mary, Mother Church.

A contest where more than 200 sixth grade students from three centers of education participated. These included the Santa Maria del Aguila, Andalucia, and Jesus de Perceval schools. They wrote essays that reflected their concerns, wishes, and 'your promises' to improve their locality.

Cristina Vinolo visited El Ejido's City Council, where she was welcomed by Francisco Gongora. She spoke out about the importance of natural spaces and asked for the Municipal Park to be completed quickly so it has more game elements.

Vinolo also requested that more bio-healthy and aerobic games be installed in the Santa Maria del Aguila Sports Pavilion, as well as the opening of English and German academies of acrobatics and classical dance.

She also expressed concern about the school where she studies. She requested a roof be built to allow 4-year-old students to enter the building and a small gym so that they can do their physical education in the rainy season.

He also stressed that he believes it is appropriate to install surveillance cameras in the IES Santa Maria del Aguila. He requested that prices for products like oil and gasoline be reduced and that an ambulance be called when the waiting time is less.

The mayor reaffirmed his belief that the local government was constructing a new library. It will be located at the Socio-Cultural Nave. It will include study and computer rooms.
