Antonio Jimenez, the territorial delegate for Education and Sports was accompanied by M.a Carmen Castillo the Deputy Minister of Education. They highlighted the transformation in Dual Vocational Training. This "not only provides learning linked to each environment but also increases motivation for students, the updating knowledge and skills, as well as a high rate for employability>>.
The deputy minister, for her part, stressed that it was essential to work hand in hand to determine the needs of companies and to design appropriate planning that, along with training young people in matters that have a long-term, addresses the needs of different productive sectors.
This school year, there are 40 dual vocational training projects, compared to 33 the previous year. That is an increase of 21%. The Ministry has approved 54 actions at 44 centers across the province for adaptations of electrical and communications installations, acquisition, and installation of teaching equipment.
These two new training options are now available in addition to the existing Advanced Degree in Dual Mechatronics (morningshift) and Intermediate Degree in Electromechanics. Cosentino now has four professional training titles, three in dual mode.
Pilar Martinez Cosentino was executive vice president of Cosentino; Francisco Robles was Global Vice President for the People Area; Ana Silvia Navarro was responsible for industrial development; Santiago Alfonso Rodriguez was vice president of communications.
They also got to see the Cosentino facilities and took a short tour of its showroom. Additionally, they visited the classrooms where Dual Vocational Training classes take place at the facility. Students and teachers shared impressions, and they valued the situation highly. The training received and the prospects for the future are both very positive. These students were asked by the Deputy Minister for Education to share their opinions on the training they received in order to improve it. "We need to know how to improve our future."
Pilar Martinez-Cosentino stated that "from this entity, within its business strategy and training strategy, it is necessary to place a bet on this kind of professional training that favors both the region and the province and helps train more qualified professionals to the real world production environment." Francisco Robles, for his part, stated that he could not see Cosentino's success without counting on its students who have been trained in Dual Vocational training. This is a significant step as it opens the door to these young people.
Manuel Martinez, director of the IES Juan Rubio Ortiz encouraged them to "continue making the maximum effort, continue working because they had an opportunity to prove themselves to this company in-situ and that is a remarkable opportunity to achieve a better future."
Dual Vocational Training is a combination of learning in educational centers and companies that are related to the student's professional profile and have a particular weight in the province. Antonio Jimenez, delegate for Education and Sport, stated that offering quality training tailored to the market is one way to combat youth unemployment and school dropouts.
This type of VT is a teaching method that combines theory and practice. It uses a system of alternation between an educational center and a company to bring the worlds of work closer to students. It is a unique teaching model that offers many benefits to students, educational centres, and companies.
Dual Vocational Training graduates have a higher percentage of finding jobs in their industry due to their practical training. This is because it is a teaching method in which companies directly involve in training and many students remain there after they complete their studies. The delegate said that dual vocational training provides more tailored training, which makes the candidates' profiles more appealing.
M.a Carmen Castillo wanted to emphasize "the importance of companies participating in this training modality. This has been made evident by the efficient functioning of the Technical Tab for Dual FP Training in Companies, which is unique in Andalusia, and the outstanding work done by the Dual Coordinators as well as the Management Teams at the centers>>.
The companies will provide a monetary scholarship for the dual-training cycle students. It will cover 20% of the spots in the renewed projects, and 100% in new projects. This means that 70% percent of projects in the province will offer scholarships to students.
Total of 240 new authorizations have been offered by the Ministry for the academic year 2021/2022 in Andalusia (new cycle in new educational centres). This will allow Andalusia to offer 185 degrees, in line with the Andalusian Government's strategy to meet the business and social needs.
