Convened the songwriting contest at the Conference 'Sabina por Aqui'

Between August 27th and September 10th, the ninth edition of the "Sabina around here" Conference in Ubeda will be held. 15 days of programming, including conferences, poetry gatherings, concerts and exhibitions, that are all related to Ubet's work and influence. The author song contest, which is a huge part of the proposal, will be back. It attracts a lot of talent every year to the church of San Lorenzo.

Now is the time to register. The deadline for submissions is July 25th. The evening will end with the performance by the chosen artists. Carlos Bueso, a singer-songwriter, will also be performing as a special guest artist.

The main novelty is that the five finalist letters will each be eligible for a second prize. The awards will now be three. The professional jury will award one and the public another based on performance. Each recipient will be given a thousand euros by Joaquin Sabina and the recording of a demo at the Madrid studio where the singer-songwriter Ubet can record. In addition, a Pottery Tito ceramic trophy was awarded.

The new prize for best finalist letter, the 'Abarcass-Miguel Hernandez Prize', will be endowed by 300 euros, personalized sandals made in the Blanco Ubalde brothers’ Ubedies Artesania workshops and a set of Hernandian books worth around 200 euros. Miguel Hernandez Literary Legacy Foundation collaborated to make this recognition possible. Their aims to disseminate the life and work the poet through their direct link to the poetry and music creation that takes place throughout these conferences will also be realized. Particularly in the songwriting contest and 'Sabina por Aqui'. Miguel Hernandez is also closely associated with the 'Abarcas" award, as the so-called "shepherd poet" often used this shoe.

The contest is open to solo singer-songwriters and groups up to four members. They can submit two author songs as well as a Joaquin Sabina version. There are no geographical or age restrictions. The international appeal that has marked this contest since its inception, in 2014, is still strong and has been maintained edition after edition. It has almost reached equal levels of international and national registrations. International interest is not just generated by the registration of singer-songwriters, but also the contest's final is watched every year worldwide by viewers from the Spanish-speaking countries. Today, the live broadcast of 2021 has more than 24,000 views on Facebook.

Peor para el Sol was the organizer of this conference and encouraged singer-songwriters to submit to it. This contest is a great contest in the genre because of the quality of the participants and the value of the prizes. The bases can be consulted on the association's website (www.peorparaelsol.es) and its social networks (facebook.com/colectivopeorparaelsol).

Peor para El Sol presented a preview of what will be the ninth Conference 'Sabina here. The organization also announced that Tulsa Castro, Pedro Pastor, Rita Payes and Valeria Castro will be attending the musical section. Although they represent different approaches to songwriting and music understanding, they share a common thread: a rising trajectory and a promising outlook.

Pedro Pastor, just 27 years old, has four albums under his belt and represents and leads a new group of singer-songwriters from Spain. He has performed more than 500 concerts in over 17 countries, including Colombia and Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Costa Rica, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cuba, Cuba, Argentina, Cuba, Cuba, Cuba, and Cuba. His latest album, 'Vueltas", is a record that showcases a leap in musical composition and which allows him to continue to build on his musical heritage (he is Luis Pastor's son). Pedro Pastor is far from big labels and multinationals. He develops and directs the project and has established himself as one the most prominent and young songwriters in Spanish on both side of the Atlantic.

Tulsa is the name that Miren Iza hides under. She is a Gipuzkoan, who took her first steps into the world of music in 2000 with the Electrobikinis. After her divorce in 2002, Tulsa began her solo career, recording four LPs and several EPs. She also gave concerts all over New York, Argentina, and Spain. In 2021, her latest album, titled "Ese Extasis", was released. It is an album that isn't coherent and doesn't pretend to be. There aren't many stellar collaborations. It's author pop where melody and outsider songs coexist.

Valeria Castro is sweetness and sensitivity, with a unique delicacy. She is the great promise of Spanish folk music and one of the most moving voices in the country. Her EP "Chiquita" will be presented in Ubeda for the first-time. This project captures the simplicity and rawness of this young palm tree and has been viewed millions of times on country's major platforms. She was recently nominated for Odeon Awards as alternative revelation artists. Her inspiration comes from authors like Natalia Lafourcade and Silvana Estrada, as well as Maria Jose Llergo.

Finally, Rita Payes will participate in the UNED-organized cycle 'Of sung and its margins. Many of them knew her from her performance at the Goya Awards together with C. Tangana presenting "Te venero", an unreleased song. Rita Payes started her career as a trombonist in a family of musicians many years ago. She joined the Sant Andreu Jazz Band a few years later, and began singing with Eva Fernandez, Magali Datzira, and Andrea Motis. She has performed at some of the most important festivals in Spain, France, Switzerland and Italy, Morocco, Sweden, Greece, among other places. The young Catalan singer has now announced a European tour called "Like the skin Europe Tour 2022", which will take in thirteen European countries including Luxembourg, France and Italy. It will also include stops in Spain, Slovakia, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia. Lithuania, Sweden, Lithuania, Sweden, and Lithuania. The September stop will be in Ubeda.

Music will also be featured at the concert, featuring the traditional concert of Pedro Sandoval's and the Duende de Gaia's winners of the Author's Song Contest.

Javier Soto Zaragoza and Francisca Noguerol will be present at the conference section. They also participate in the UNED-sponsored cycle 'De lo cantado y sus margines. Three gatherings will be held in poetry: Versos Roba(2), where Alberto Sanfrutos (from Ubet) and his colleagues, Los Lobos, will share their favourite poets' verses; and two 'Noble Couples with Marta Lopez Vilar and Aurora Luque, one hand.

The paintings of three Ubet artists, Antonio Camprubi Tudela and Antonio Lechuga Garrido, will also be displayed in San Lorenzo. They stated from Peor para el Sol that they would soon provide details on dates, spaces, and ticket sales.
