The presentation of Jose Antonio Martinez, the Democratic Center Coalition candidate for mayor of Armilla, took place this weekend at Casa Garcia de Viedma, Armilla. Leaders of the centrist party presented Martinez to the top of the list with the slogans "let’s recover the illusion” and "win Europe For The People".
Martinez is the coordinator of CCD in Armilla, and a member of the National Executive Committee. His candidacy was ratified in part by the remaining militants of the party in the municipality. In 2010, the party was established. It achieved its first national political successes with several councils, and as many as four mayors in 2015's municipal elections.
New opposition
"The failure of their policies, corruption cases and inefficiency of their management have led to the fact that wings have been given populism on both the left and the right which irresponsibly tries to break coexistence and move citizens to their easy solutions. This is what the mayoral candidate said at a press conference. His party was presented as a "centrist-moderate, municipalist, progressive option that understands municipal politics is the closest thing to citizens."
It plans to address the following challenges: "mobility, citizen safety, the fight against vandalism and environmental problems", as well as transport, housing, and other matters.
The candidate expressed gratitude for "the trust that I have received from my colleagues, which is an honor and a responsibility being a candidate, in front of them and before the peoples of Armilla." It will be an historic year for the municipality. New windows in municipal administration have been proposed to ensure a more equitable and efficient management of local public funds.
