Cantoria's rural school was conditioned and upgraded by the PFEA

Jose Luis Delgado, the territorial delegate of Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration of the Board of Almeria, visited the works under the Program for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment. The program was implemented in the Headquarters of the Rural Public School (CPR) Medium Almanzora de Cantoria, where 30 students study. There, actions were taken to renovate the patio and improve lighting, as well as energy conservation.

Juan Marin, the minister, contributes 55,350 euros this year for these works. These works are in addition to the "improving services public spaces or environmental action" in the municipalities, and make it possible to create new jobs through cooperation between administrations. This year, Cantoria has almost 80 residents.

Purificacion Sanchez (mayor of Cantoria) explained the PFEA's actions during a visit to the rural school. He stated that "the schoolyard was in very bad condition" and that it is now in great shape. After assessing the lighting conditions, he noted that they have updated current regulations and installed windows that make better use of natural sunlight.

According to the delegate, during the meeting and the subsequent visit in which Roque Sevilla, the Councilor for Works and the Environment was also present, he was able learn about some municipal problems and then approach the tools and instruments of the Department of Local Administration to "provide a solution".

He also highlighted the "fulfilled" commitment by Juan Marin, Vice President of Board, to "unfreeze and improve" non-finalist financing for municipalities through Participation of taxes of autonomous communities (Patrica), which, in the case Cantoria, has allowed them more than 400,000 euro.

The delegate also reminded the minister of the assistance lines that can be used to address damages caused by natural disasters or contingencies. This meeting will take place soon. Delgado said that because it is not possible to predict the damage, it has been impossible to account it in the budgets for the municipalities. He also recalled that Cantoria had received this aid in previous years when it was affected the 2019 DANA, specifically nearly 80,000 euros.

In the face of the COVID pandemic's health crisis, the Local Administration Department stood by smaller municipalities that had the funds to cover the extraordinary costs of cleaning, disinfection, and purchase of sanitary hygiene items. Cantoria was the recipient of almost EUR19,000.

The provincial head of Local Administration stated, "It's about being near to the municipalities, solving their problems, and putting at the disposal the instruments that Juan Marin has."
