Cafe Quijano: "In our concert, you will see that there are songs which are part of your daily life>>

1-How would you describe Cafe Quijano's history from 1996, when you recorded your first demo, to today? It would be a thrilling journey of three brothers who have had incredible experiences ever since we started to make music together. It is a trip we enjoy, and we wish it would never end.

2-In what stage or moment is the group at this point? We are currently in a state of uncertainty, in which all those who are affected by this are ensconced. It is not difficult to see the extraordinary state of all segments of society, especially those who are involved in activities that involve exposure to large audiences. We are currently composing songs for the new album in the musical sphere. It is due to be released in the first month of next year.

3-How did you prepare for the 2020 tour? How has the coronavirus crisis affected your plans? We are musicians professionals and this is our most unusual tour. We are trying to prepare ourselves for uncertainty and circumstances that will force us to re-connect and get back on track after a five-month break.

We, along with all of our colleagues in the field, have been severely affected by the pandemic. As a result, we have had to postpone or suspend concerts. It is not clear when these concerts will resume. Some venues are so small that it is impossible to offer such shows.

4-This is the first time the group has visited Alcala. What will Alcala's residents and visitors be able to witness at the concert? The concert is very diverse and covers all the musical stages we have been through since our inception. The bolero is available for those who prefer acoustic music or our most rockiest songs.

Because they are songs that have been part their lives for over twenty years, it is a show where people who know them will feel at ease.

Five mythical songs, such as "La Lola", will be heard in Alcala La Real on Friday. We would love to hear your thoughts. You can play "La Lola" as well as many other songs from our repertoire that spans more than 20 years. From "La taberna del buda", Nada de na or "Desde Brasil", to more recent songs like "RObarle tiempo all tiempo", or "You fall in Love with everything" or even "Forgive me".

6-What message would your send to those who haven't yet purchased their tickets? We would like to tell all who haven't yet bought tickets that we are a great plan for Friday nights. They won't be disappointed. A show where they will discover that certain songs have been a part of their lives for a long while. Also, they will get to meet three brothers and a group of musicians who love being on stage. And they can spread that enthusiasm to anyone who has the chance to see them.

7-What are the future plans for the group? The immediate future of the group is to record the new album next year, continue to play, fulfill all our commitments since before the Covid nightmare began, and above all, try to be happy.

Tickets are still available for Friday's concert at Alonso Alcala school on August 7. Tickets are available on the Giglon website as well as at the box office.
