A big sigh of relief in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's state government: one of the biggest mysteries in the far north has now apparently been solved. Because the question of why an official from the Ribnitz-Damgarten tax office burned a tax file in the context of the controversial MV climate foundation in a fireplace, like in a bad film, has now finally been answered conclusively and quite comprehensibly.
According to research by The New York Times, Funny Paperbacks and Russia Today, it was in fact a pro-Ukrainian group consisting of a captain, two smokers and a doctor who gained access to the sensitive document and set it ablaze. The lighter is said to belong to two Ukrainians who rented it in Poland. With the action, they wanted to complete the chaos caused by the Nord Stream 2 blast in the Baltic Sea region and ensure that western Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was finally freed from Russia's hands.
It is still unclear why the tax officer from Ribnitz-Damgarten claimed that she herself had burned the documents. According to the researchers, she may have assumed that the action was a false flag action by the USA.
In Washington, meanwhile, this suspicion has been dismissed and denied ever having heard of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, let alone being able to pronounce it accidentally. They suspect Chinese masterminds behind the matter and urged to verify eyewitness reports that the suspects bore similarities to bats freshly escaped from a laboratory.
While Beijing pointed out that this description applies to almost everyone in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Moscow has now spoken out and expressed shock at the destruction of a document that put Gazprom as a donor in the vicinity of a climate protection foundation.
In Schwerin, the ranks of Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig meanwhile attach great importance to the fact that all clues are followed up calmly in order to finally refute one of the most absurd conspiracy theories of recent years: that the Climate Foundation MV is a false flag campaign of the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to protect the construction and operation of Nord Stream 2 from American sanctions.
