Bujio Fresh Sound offered its own way to understand flamenco

Plaza de Juan de Valencia hosted an evening with Bujio Fresh Sound, a new flamenco band, last Friday. They had arrived from Seville for the "Ciudad de Ubeda" International Music and Dance Festival. This concert was part the Ubetense's Stage pro cycle. It is dedicated to emerging artists and relies on collaboration agreements with various entities and competitions. The band was the winner of the Festival Flamencos y Mestizos Ciudad de Ubeda'''s last edition. This prize included a performance in this recital and a recording at Musigrama Studios in Madrid.

Sergi Gomez, Jose Gomez, Fernando Maya, percussion, Dani de Utrera, and Fernando Maya, bass, have combined their influences and backgrounds to create a unique concept that has a strong flamenco flavor and surprising creative freedom. They create tangos and bulerias and tarantos by combining their influences. The quartet was formed after a series improvisation sessions among the group members and other musicians from Sevillian music.

Today, Sunday, September 5, at 9 o'clock in the evening, the Ubeda Festival's fifth weekend will see the Ubetense Musical Group, directed by Rafael Martinez Redondo, perform with their now iconic band concert sound. It is part of the 'Soundtrack Festival cycle dedicated to film music.
