Book Day is celebrated by Baza schoolchildren who take part in literary walks

The experience of visiting the Municipal Library of Baza to meet Federico Garcia Lorca or Miguel de Cervantes is something that Baza schoolchildren were able to have live during the literary walks around Book Day.

Baza City Council has created a comprehensive program for schools celebrating Book Day. This week, programming began at Jose Becerril Municipal Library. There, students in 1st and second grade have enjoyed literary walks. Students have had the opportunity to meet literary characters and mythical writers.

Manolo Gavilan (the mayor of Baza) and Yolanda Fernandez (the Councilor for Education), visited the library to enjoy a literary walk and to see the reusable bags that the library has given out to celebrate the Day of the Book.

Friday 22nd saw the continuation of activities with the storytelling contest in Ideal Room, for students in 3rd and fourth grades. Then it was on to the 5th and sixth grades. In the afternoon, it was turn of Education Center students Permanent and Permanent Open Training Classroom.

Tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday, April 24, the "Baza Cervantina” proposal will be held in the square of the old Marquez Torres School, which was the first reader to Don Quixote. Stories, music, and words will be presented on Saturday, April 23, at 7:00 pm. On Sunday, April 24, at 12 noon, a public reading will be given of Don Quixote. This will be followed by Cervantes Migas, courtesy the Meson Siglo XX.

Students aged 3-4 years old will be able to participate in a dramatized story at the Arab Baths on Tuesday, April 26. For 5-year-olds, there will be a storytelling of the Permanent Classroom at the House of Culture on April 29.

Activities will continue into May: On May 4th, students in 5th and 6th grades will have a sensory concert; on May 6, theater with "The Emperor’s suit" from the Academy of Performing Arts will be held for the 3rd and 4th grades.
