Big Daddy Weave's Jay Weaver is Dead at 42 from COVID Complications

Mike, his brother, and bandmate, shared the sad news via Instagram. "I am sorry to bring this information, but I am excited for where he's at right now. Jay, my brother, went to Jesus just a few hours ago."

Jay was a vocalist and bass player for the Christian band. He had suffered from health problems in the past. In 2016, Jay was rushed to the hospital to treat an infection and needed both his feet amputated.

Mike thanked everyone in his message for their support and prayers during his battles with his illness.

He said, "Even though COVID died, Jesus was there to capture him."

Big Daddy Weave was founded in 1998. They released their first album in 2001. Since then, they have been touring the Christian music scene with huge hits.

Mike spoke about the impact of his brother -- "The Lord used them in such a powerful way out on road for many years."
