Almeria saw a 2,606 increase in registered unemployment between May and June. This is a 4.38% increase, putting the total unemployed population in Almeria at 62,168. Year-on-year, unemployment fell by -9.127 people, or -12.80%, when compared to June 20,21. They have transferred from Government Subdelegation following the publication of the most recent official data from Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

The latest data available for the month of May shows that 103 people are receiving contributory benefits for ERTE Covid-19 Almeria.

According to sex, the male unemployment rate was 25,251 for June among men, and 36,917 for women. The number of youth unemployed, or those less than 25 years old, is 4,949 The number of people who are unemployed among those aged over 25 is 57,219. The other side is that 15,226 of those unemployed are foreigners.

According to economic sectors, there was an increase in unemployment in the services sector (1.442) and agriculture (1.263). However, unemployment fell in construction (-51), industry (-34) as well as the group with no previous employment (-14).

The average Almeria worker who was affiliated to Social Security during June was 307 026. This is a decrease of 2.22% compared to May's 6,968 affiliates. Year-on-year, the average affiliation grew by 10,600 people, or 3.58%, when compared to June 2021.

Almeria currently has 243,972 workers who are members of the General Social Security Scheme. 62,065 belong to the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers, (RETA), and 995 to the Special Scheme for Sea Workers.

The General Social Security Scheme has 48,910 workers who are members of the Special Agrarian System, and 2,474 belong to the Special System For Domestic Employees.

According to the most recent data available, foreign affiliates totaled 67,915. The largest number of foreign affiliates was 26,291, followed by Romania (1,664). Senegal (3.791).

At the end of May, there were 25,726, 7,086, and 7,086 foreign affiliates to the Special Scheme for Self Employed Workers. The Special Scheme for Sea Workers had 113 workers, the Special Agrarian System 34.124 and the Special System for Domestic Workers 866.

May is the month for unemployment benefits
