Land of liquid gold. EVOO Spain organizes the 'D’AOVE' contest with the Alcala la Real City Council in collaboration with Alcala Oliva. The finals will take place at the Alcala Oliva Olive Oil Museum on the 1st September. They acknowledged that the contest was designed to encourage professional chefs to use extra virgin olive oil in their recipes.
Jaen's most important ambassador is Oil. Alcala's tourism and gastronomic promotion will include it as an asset. This is a claim to promote the many benefits our municipality has for visitors. Juan Manuel Marchal, Councilor for Tourism, Culture and Commerce, said that the contest was focused on the gastronomic industry.

Next Tuesday's final will feature Ana Belen Moreno Martinez of the Hotel Palacio de Ubeda and Mari Angeles Garcia Roldan of the La Malaje restaurant. Miguel Angel Mateos, also from Madrid, Javier Blazquez Martinez, Fernando Desa, Venta de Posa's Federico Guajardo, and Javier Blazquez Martinez, both from Moratilla. The event will feature great experts in extra virgin olive oil, including chef Daniel Garcia Peinado and doctor Francisco Lorenzo Tapia. Tapia is a leading expert on community nutrition and a strong defender of the Mediterranean diet.
The contest saw hundreds of participants from Spain, who presented their original and unique dishes using extra virgin olive oils. Alcala will be witnessing the final. The contest stipulates that the finalists will prepare and cook live for two hours. They will then present six portions to each member of the jury made up of professionals and experts from the olive sector. One portion will be for the members of the jury and one for the public.
Many of the oil mills in the town offer guided tours and tastings, so both residents and tourists can learn about the properties and nuances that olive oil has. This is a unique way to enhance your visit to the town.
