Around 8,000 students in Religion participated in Intercentre Kahoots with different schools and institutes of Spain during the second term. Carlos Valle, Professor of Religion at IES Pedro Jimenez Montoya de Baza in Grannada, coordinated the activity with Jose Manuel Rodriguez (Granada), teacher in Alfacar, Castilla La Mancha and Extremadura. Several teachers from Andalusia Castilla La Mancha and Castilla y Leon, Madrid Oviedo Murcia, Navarra also participated.
Kahoot allows students to answer multiple questions simultaneously using their tablets or mobile phones. These games are extremely exciting as each question adds points and the ranking of educational centres is continuously updated. The questions dealt with the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus. They emphasized the most important characters in these stories.
According to Religion teachers, this initiative was a motivating activity for students. It has allowed them to have fun, compete and learn, and also allowed them the opportunity to have fun with their students.
Kahoot also makes it possible for educators to make the subject visible to all members of the educational community, even families. This shows that teachers are on the cutting edge of new technologies and can see firsthand how game-based learning works.
