a year and a Half ago put Veerle Geerinckx (N-VA) her first steps on the ice in the then newly opened curlinghal in the Zemstse borough of Elewijt – the only one in our country. The mayor of Zemst Saturday, together with Dirk Heylen, employee at Sport Flanders, our national colors to defend at the world championships of curling in the Norwegian Stavanger, she had her first encounter with the brush and the stone never dare to dream of. But Thursday morning landed she certainly is in Norway, where she the coming days for one of the biggest challenges in her life. “With what ambition we have at this world cup start? No (laughs),” says Veerle Geerinckx. “We'll see where we end up. The preparation will in any case not have been, for the last couple of months, every week an average of ten hours on the ice to train. Since I am not a political mandates accumulate, I could do the workouts perfectly in my agenda.”

Zemst No sash these days for Zemsts mayor Veerle Geerinckx.
