you're Going around with a unique navnekombination and feel special, then you're probably far from the only one.

New figures from Statistics Denmark show that more and more danes have a unique name. Particularly in the city of Copenhagen is parents creative. Here are two out of three aged 0-17 years the only one in Denmark with exactly the combination of their first name and last name.

When the man raises his eyes, showing a trend in the municipalities around the capital, where Ishøj and Frederiksberg finishes in the top three.

At the other end of the scale one finds the municipalities in north Jutland and the west coast of jutland.

In the Mother's Municipality is reaping one award as the most traditional, with regard to names. Here, only 32 percent aged 0-17 years, who has been assigned a unique navnekombination.

According to the navneforsker at the Department of nordic studies and linguistics at Copenhagen University Birgit Eggert, there may be several reasons for that there live the most people with unique names in the metropolitan area of

- It may be because there live more foreigners in the cities, which has other names, and it can also affect the statistics. It applies to as far as whether it is a swede, an american or a German, says Birgit Eggert.

She believes, however, that there is also talk about a trend you have seen in the light of recent navnelovgivning from 2006.

- It has been common that when you got married, got the wife and the children the father's surname. But after, there is a new navnelov in 2006, it has become easier to do something else, and this is probably the reason why we see this development, she says to Ekstra Bladet.

According to Birgit Eggert is one of the reasons that parents give their children a unique navnekombination, a question about the urban culture. The more people who live in a city, the greater is the need for a unique name for their children, so they can stand out in the crowd.

- I guess that parents in the cities think more about what name they give their children.

the Figures from Statistics Denmark also show that many newborn babies are given a unique name.

Among the named children, who was not yet filled a year in pr. 1. January 2019, 97 percent a unique navnekombination. It will say that there is any other danes who have their combination of forenames and surnames. For the entire population is the figure of 79 percent.

the Reason that more and more children are unique navnekombinationer, must be seen in light of the fact that there has almost been a tripling in the names for the newborn. In 1985, it had forælde 2790 names to choose from, while the figure in 2017 was increased to 7075.

- If you are an actor, writer, or artist of one sort or another, where it is very important to get noticed, then you may have experienced that it is an advantage if you have a special name. And it may well be that parents wonder in this, when they give their children names, says Birgit Eggert.

She stresses, however, that you do not need to have a special name for having a unique navnekombination. It can be quite common names, there just has not been put together before.

Turning his eyes away from the people with unique names and looking at people with the most common forenames and surnames, is the Jens Jensen and Kirsten Jensen, who tops the list. Michael Jensen and Kirsten Nielsen tops the list of most common full name.
