Worst result in 15 years

Bone's, which is known for ribs and ice cream: d ad libitum, had a decline in 2018, when the heat of summer meant fewer diners in the chain's restaurants.

Bone's has 25 amerikanskinspirerede restaurants in Denmark and Greenland and also offers take away.

Overall, ended with profits of 2.7 billion dollars in 2018, which is a decrease from 8.8 million in 2017. It is at the same time, the lowest surplus since 2003.

From about the end of april to the beginning of august had Bone's according to director and co-owner Jan Vinther Laursen 10-15 percent lower turnover than usual.

- We serve some of the slightly larger and heavier meals, and when the weather is warm and the sun is shining, then there are several who choose to be at home by Webergrillen or go to the beach instead of visiting our restaurants in the cities.

- So we hope that the 100-year summer, we saw last year, was a one-off hit, says Jan Vinther Laursen.

Jan Vinther Laursen is, however, positive that, despite everything, ended up with a surplus in 2018.

- We are glad that we earned money and is not burdened by a high debt, so we have room to start new projects. But the result is obviously not satisfactory, says Jan Vinther Laursen.

He expects, however - unless the weather in the summer again become very hot - to the low result in the 2018 was a lone swallow.

We have great expectations for 2019, which should be better than both the 2018 and 2017.

- We have had a sensible development, since the summer ended, and we have had a successful opening of our newest restaurant in Sønderborg, so we are positive about our concept, says Jan Vinther Laursen.

Bone's started in 1990 in Herning, denmark and has since grown to now be in 19 cities in Denmark and in Nuuk in Greenland.

In 2016, sold to the three founders of the Bone's of their shares to Jan Vinther Laursen and two other investors.
