fire zone Kempen was this morning about 7: 30 p.m. called to a fire at the campsite. One of the chalets on the estate had caught fire, the fire brigade could, despite the best efforts cannot prevent the entire building was destroyed. Two other chalets were slight damages caused by the fire.Flame jet
“About 7.30 p.m. I saw from the window of our caravan a bit further on, a flame,” says a neighbor. “I have a fire extinguisher and moved to there run. When I arrived, the chalet is already in flames.”
The two persons who at that time in the chalet, were both killed. Until late in the afternoon there was an investigation to determine the cause of the fire to find out. The camping is during the whole time of the investigation been closed.Permanently remain
The tenants of the chalet stayed for the first time at the campsite and had no problems with the other campers. Mother and son had little to no contact with their neighbours on the domain. The two people had many personal problems and made soon the intention to permanently want to stay in the rented chalet, but that is prohibited in a campground.Lot of problems
“The accident happened in a chalet which we rent out to people who are here for a weekend or a week, want to stay. The victims are a mother of 47 years and her son of 26 from Antwerp, belgium who is here already a week stayed," says Jean-Paul Kerssemeekers of camping The Barn.
“Apparently people had a lot of problems that my hats go upstairs and they wanted to in the chalet to continue to live, I I have them made clear that this can not and that this sleeping room can be rented for vacations or shorter stays. Then I have them without hassle asked the campground on Monday about 13 hours to leave. It was also found that the two persons are not a valid address.”
Around 7.30 am, a few hours before they were to leave, stood the chalet which mother and son for a week rented in flames. Their bodies were after the bluswerken is detected by the fire brigade. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known but it is likely that the tenants of the fire itself ignited, and is, therefore, suicide.
