It was not a great day for the old Manchester United boys yesterday.

Paul Scholes was charged with breaking the rules of betting on football matches, but elsewhere in England there was an even more serious suspicion against one of Scholes' old team-mates from the golden years.

Nicky Butt was a part of Manchester United's golden generation in the 90's and start of 00's, where he among other things was to win six English league titles, the Champions League in 1999, as well as three FA Cup titles. Just as he reached the 39 appearances for England.

In 2004 he moved to Newcastle to get more playing time, before he ended his career with a stay in Birmingham and China.

since then, he returned to Manchester United. First as youth coach and now as head of the club's academy.
